1.4) Algoa Park Karate Institute Joins JSKA South Africa

1.7) The 3rd JSKA World Cup and Masters Training Camp

The 3rd JSKA World Cup and Masters Training Camp was held at the Manhatten College in New York City from the 17th till the 24th of July 2006. JSKA South Africa won 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. An outstanding achievement for just three students. | 1.8) Wedding of Michael and Janka Kliment

10th of August 2006, at Spania Dolina in the Slovak Republic, Michael Kliment and Janka Vigasova got married. | 1.9) Friends through Karate

2.1) Mdantsane Gasshuku

Gasshuku held in Mdantsane, East London during September 2006. Hosted by Mdantsane Karate Institute, attended by Fort Hare Karate and East London Goju Kai. | 2.2) 2006 Metropolitan Eastern Cape Awards

The 2006 Metropolitan Eastern Cape Awards evening was held in Umtata on the 18th of November 2006. Ronel Jantjes won the coveted Sportsperson of the Year award. Sensei Michael Kliment was a finalist for the Coach of the Year award, losing out to Olympic Sprint Coach, Magda Botha. | 2.3) Sensei Sicelo Apleni Honoured.

Sensei Sicelo Apleni was awarded his Godan (5th dan) by Sensei Michael Kliment for his tireless work in creating a unified South Africa. |
2.4) 2007 JSKA South Africa Black Belt Seminar

Instructors and their assistants from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, East London, Alice and the rest of the Eastern Province attended this Black Belt seminar to standardize our syllabus. This was held at the Honbu Dojo in Port Elizabeth on 9/10 February 2007. | 2.5) 2007 Zone 6 African Championships

The Zone 6 African Senior Championships were held in Maputo, Mozambique on the 25th of May 2007. It was the first ever time that South Africa won the overall Zone 6 African Championships after seven attempts. | 2.6) 2007 WUKO Senior World Karate Championships

The 2007 WUKO Senior World Championships were held in Valencia, Spain on 28-30 June 2007. Excellent karate standard all round was observed. Sensei Michael Kliment was also graded as an international kumite judge. |
2.7) 2007 Junior All Styles South African Champion

Nkululeko Apleni became the South African under 70 Kg junior men's kumite champion for 2007. He has also been selected to represent the South African Protea Karate team later this year in Istanbul, Turkey. | 2.8) 2007 JSKA SA National Novice and Elite Championships

The first JSKA SA National Championships for novice and elite karateka of all ages was held in Cape Town on the 28th of July 2007. The tournament was well prepared and hosted by Sensei Clive Eksteen and his club. | 3.0) Mikaila, Mauritius - August 2007

Mikaila Kliment, Sensei Michael's oldest daughter, is most probably the youngest scuba diver in the world at the age of 9 years. |
3.1) Birth of baby Mija Anastazia Kliment

Sensei Michael and Janka Kliment are proud to announce the arrival of Baby Mija Anastazia Kliment, 3.16 Kg healthy baby girl. | 3.2) 2007 WUKO African Intercontinental Championships

The 2007 WUKO African Intercontinental Championships were held in Pretoria on 21/22 September 2007, and was hosted by SASKA. We sent a small inexperienced team to these championships. Our team won 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Only 5 of the 20 member team had previous international experience. | 3.3) 2007 Rugby World Cup

Sensei Michael Kliment and our JSKA South Africa President, Mr. Paul Kliment, were in Paris for the semi-final and final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. |
3.4) Scuba Diving - Mauritius Dec 2007.

Sensei Michael Kliment and his daughter, Mikaila, went to Mauritius during December 2007 to complete their PADI Open Water Diving Certification. Mikaila is the youngest certified diver in the World. | 3.5) 2008 Mauritius Scuba Diving

Mikaila Kliment and Sensei Michael went to Mauritius in April 2008 to Scuba Dive for a week. What A great time was had by all. | 3.6) 2008 International Kanazawa Cup

The South African National Protea Men's Unison team of Sensei Michael Kliment, Steve Johnson and Karl von der Marwitz beat all from Mauritius, Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia, India, Bangladesh and Greece to win the 2008 International Kanazawa Cup held in Durban on 26 April 2008. |
3.7) 2008 Commonwealth Karate Championships. Vol. 1

Sensei Michael Kliment with his team mates, Steve Johnson and Karl von der Marwitz won the 2008 Commonwealth Karate Championships in the Men's Elite Unison Kata division. They became the first South Africans to win Gold at this prestigious event, beating the mighty England on the way. | 3.8) 2008 Commonwealth Karate Championships. Vol. 2

JSKA's Nkululeko Apleni won the coveted Men's Open Kumite division, winning the coveted Japanese Sword at the 2008 Martial Arts Extravaganza hosted by Sensei Chris Mance. |

JSKA South Africa is sending a small team of six karateka to the 4th JSKA Karate World Championships to be held in Manchester, England on 22-24 August 2008. | 4.2) 19th WKF World Senior Championships - Tokyo, Japan

Sensei Michael Kliment and his National Protea Men's Unison Team of Steve Johnson and Karl von der Marwitz at the biggest World Karate Championships ever in Tokyo, Japan from 13 to 16 November 2008. |
4.4) 1st WUKO European Championships for Children, Cadets and Juniors

The 1st WUKO European Karate Championships for Children, Cadets and Juniors were held in Imperia, Italy on 19-21 June 2009. With over 1000 competitors from 20 european federations from all over europe competing. A marvellous display of high class karate. | 4.5) 2nd WJKA World Karate Championships

The 2nd WJKA World Karate Championships for children, seniors and veterans took place in Durban on 3-5 July 2009. JSKA South Africa took part and won the overall medal standings, claiming the title of overall WJKA World Karate Champions. JSKA South Africa final medal tally was 9 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze Medals. Sensei Michael Kliment was awarded his 6th Dan Black Belt in WJKA by Shihans Jan Knobel and Robert Sidoli. | 4.6) 2010 Instructors Gasshuku - Beachview

The 2010 instructors gasshuku was held at Beachview Sea Resort on the weekend of 26/7/8 February 2010. Brown and Balck belts were taken through their paces by Shihan Michael, Senseis' Luciano, Craig, Anton and Nicole. All learned a great deal and fun was had by all. |
4.7) 2010 International Kanazawa Cup

20 young karateka from the honbu dojo went and represented South Africa with honour and pride. We won 20 medals all together with 6 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze medals. The star performers were Siya Mpame and Mikaila Kliment. |
